Karen Embry is an award winning artist and accomplished designer in the creative industry.   As a third generation artist, Karen has been inspired since early childhood to express  creativity in her art and all aspects of her life.        Karen is a native Floridian and attended the University of South Florida.  She's been a painting instructor for many years as well as exhibiting her work at juried art shows.  Karen has authored numerous painting books and been published in countless nationally distributed creative publications. She has also been a guest host on the Home Shopping Network for their Craftopia segments.
Karen participated in the "Swansation" public art project in Lakeland, Florida when two of her designs were selected to be painted on the large swans.  Imagine her surprise when she had to locate a space to paint the six foot, two hundred pound fiberglass swans!  The "Swans" were exhibited at Munn Park and the swan auction helped raise over $200,000 in proceeds for the Exploration Children's Museum and other charities including the Boys and Girls Clubs, the YMCA and the United Way.
One of Karen's most outstanding experiences was as one of the artists chosen to participate at the United States Pentagon in Washington D.C. for their first annual "Take Your Child to Work Day". Her designs were selected for the T-shirt project and over 600 children of the employees shared a fun-filled day in the courtyard creating & crafting with their parents.
Karen's art is featured on numerous gift ware, home decor and craft products throughout the world with many new products coming to market in 2010.  Each design is hand rendered, painted, and finished digitally allowing freedom to alter them for various applications and needs.
Karen resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband Chuck, who provides endless support & encouragement in her creative endeavors.  Karen is the proud mother of two children. Her daughter Davi graduated from USF and is now teaching first grade.  Her son Kyle is following the family tradition of artists and studying "Media Arts & Animation" at the Art Institute of Tampa.  Also residing in the Embry household are the family pets, two dogs...Ginger and Jake (who often spend their days with Karen when she's working in her studio).
